On-Press Print Inspection with Web:Inspector:2:
Your production has never been more efficient.

Run your press at production speed, letting Web:Inspector:2 detect and record any deviations from the validated reference. Your operator will also be notified of defects so he can immediately react to minimize waste.

Getting ready to inspect is efficient too. With our Scripting technology you specify how your print job should be inspected based on its requirements. Different kinds of print areas, such as normal print, fine text, barcodes or even changing serial numbers can be inspected with different tolerance settings. (see also Question 9 under ‘Ask Experts’)

Web:Inspector:2 will detect any kind of defective printing, be it spots, streaks, missing or filled parts of letters, varying ink density or misregistration. In our easy to use set-up tool, you define the inspection zones you want with four levels of defect severity.

The speed and precision of Web:Inspector:2 is unmatched worldwide. With over 6000 pixels across the web and running at 450 ft/min. it will report any fault reliably - even one in 5pt fine print text.

During the inspection process, Web:Inspector:2 saves all of the defects in a ‘Roll Map’. This database enables you to view the collected defects on a computer and gives you valuable information like the amount of good product as well as the number, position and severity of defects. For your quality assurance, this is a powerful tool to completely analyze your production process. Last but not least, your customer can benefit from a report that you customize to the level you need.

In the post-press stage the Roll Map is used by Roll:Scheduler:1 for fault-placement on the rewinder - without the need for a camera. Read more about the interconnection of print inspection and fault-placement in our workflow configuration: Fault-placement with Roll:Scheduler:1

Integrate Web:Inspector:2 in your workflow. FDA 21 CFR Part 211 compliance helps you to meet the requirements of your pharmaceutical customers in packaging and print applications.

Web:Inspector:2 is available in different camera resolutions for pharmaceutical, security and commercial applications. Find the right camera resolution for your application from 2048 pixels up to 16384 pixels across the web.

Web:Inspector:2 is also ideal for retrofitting to your existing rewinders because of it‘s compact design.
